TRIP DETAILS
We have two nights of Workshops this year at the NightScaper conference. Only TEN people per group. If have any interest in the North Rim workshop you better act fast as that workshop is nearly sold out! The Toadstool Hoodoo is an opportunity to practice Low-Level Lighting and capture an iconic hoodoo under a Milky Way Panorama!
We will be capturing both panoramas and single image compositions at both places. After that, there will be hours of time to try new compositions out and other exposure methods! At the North Rim, I recommend you try a exposure blend of a SKY ONLY CAPTURE with the settings appropriate for a good Milky Way exposure and then a longer shutter long-exposure capture of the foreground to really bring out the view of the Grand Canyon!
See my video below of me capturing a Milky Way over the grand vistas out at Canyonlands National Park at Island in the Sky. I used that exact method of long-exposure blended panorama to capture what has become my absolute favorite and most polished Milky Way image of my life!
We will all have our own cars to get to these locations, so feel free to stay longer than the group or head out to a second location after the workshop! I will definitely be getting back for some sleep, but many of my friends out there this NightScaper conference will RALLY and be out until Sunrise! :D
